Year 10 Maths and Year 9 Maths help, tutorials and quizzes.
Give your student access to simple and effective methods to improve their performance and confidence.
AC Maths is designed from the ground up for on-line interactive learning.
You can check if your student understands a topic without you having to know the topic yourself. All you need to do is sit with your student as they work through the Guided Examples. Because the next step is initially hidden from the student it will be obvious whether they know the topic.

When most people think of online maths help they are asking the question: What's on the Internet that you can use to teach maths? The answer everyone comes up with is videos and PDFs. But that's an answer to the wrong question.
We started with the question: What do students need to do to learn Maths? The unsurprising answer is they need to
Videos and PDFs are not effective for either of these. They are passive learning tools. They work but they are inefficient and not really very effective. What tools are effective and efficient?
These are both active learning approaches. They are the two major learning tools on this site.
The latest update includes:
A new feature - the Test feature, lets you test your knowledge under exam conditions.
There are two types of worked examples on the site. Illustrative Examples and Guided Examples.
Illustrative Examples
Illustrative examples are included in the lesson texts to illustrate the ideas in the lesson. Working through illustrative examples as you read through the lesson is an excellent way of fixing the ideas of the lesson in your mind.
Guided Examples
AC Maths Guided Example technology has been developed to mimic the interaction between student and tutor. They provide an interactive environment to help students remember the steps involved when solving problems.
Your text book can't do this.
To see examples of the process and work through some yourself, click on the Samples link below. Each sample presents topic content and a link to the associated guided examples.

There is another benefit of Guided Examples. Using worked solutions, it is natural to sneak a peek at the next line (we all do it). But this only increases your dependence on worked solutions. On the other hand, working a problem without a worked solution can be very frustrating, especially if you make a mistake in the first step. Guided Examples are a compromise between completely visible worked solutions and none at all.
There is no getting around the fact that you need to have a large number of formulas, definitions and facts at your fingertips if you intend to do well. Flashcards are a proven way to dramatically increase your learning speed, or to decrease the time required to learn a given set of facts.

Test your knowledge under exam conditions. The Test feature gives you random selections of a specified number of questions over a specified selection of topics.
This site features textbook standard content with comprehensive coverage of the Australian Curriculum syllabus. If you think your textbook doesn't explain a topic all that well, another explanation always helps.
